BSLS is the ideal school. Small yet robust, basic yet imaginative, intimate yet communal, the vision at BSLS is to nurture the ideas from young minds and bring out the best in a secure environment. The best testimony I can think of is the fact that my siblings have decided to send their children to this school because of the results that they've seen in our kids.

My children have been attending Beautiful Savior Lutheran School since Nursery age. They are well cared for academically, socially and spiritually every morning when dropped off at the front doors. Beautiful Savior is blessed with a tremendously capable staff who truly have the children’s best interests at heart.

The small class sizes allow for greater personal attention to each child, enabling children to focus on special areas of learning. Many special events like the Annual Fall Supper and the Spring Tea bring families as well as the community together. I am proud and privileged to be part of the Beautiful Savior family.

Our first contact with BSLS was with its Daycare and then Nursery program when our daughter was 3. We were immediately impressed with the caring, loving attitude of the staff of the program.

The excellence of instruction, the unapologetically Christian focus, the sense of caring, compassion, love and feeling of community among the students, staff and families of BSLS make this school an irresistible choice for our children’s education.

The family atmosphere of Beautiful Savior School is a great place for children to start their education, but also learn to be kind, thoughtful and respectful. The teachers know the students and they know the parents and we all work together to create the best experience for our children. The personal attention to each student, whether it’s math or music, really makes a difference and is something few other schools can offer.

The greatest asset BSLS has is its teachers. They are current, innovative, and dedicated. These talented teachers combined with the small class sizes have given my children a strong academic foundation. But what was even more important, these teachers showed me that it takes a confident, independent, and responsible child to build something solid on that foundation. BSLS teachers hold students accountable for their actions; they give students opportunities for leadership through programs like Peer Mentoring; they encourage students to solve their own problems; and they teach students to learn from their mistakes. BSLS teachers do all this while reminding the children of God’s love for them. My children are now better prepared to weather the storms of the teenage years.

There are three main reasons why I have chosen to send my child to Beautiful Savior Lutheran School. The first reason is the sense of community that pervades the school. The children in other classes know who he is…we participate in many activities each year with the students and staff. It has definitely created a strong sense of community for my son and I.

The second reason is the staff. I have a relationship with many of the teachers and staff at the school, and know they teach there because they care about the children. They are warm and loving friendly and supportive. From my child’s morning greeting at the door from the principal to the smiling face of his teacher, my son feels known and loved. So many public schools are so large and overcrowded that it is difficult for teachers to get to know even the students in their own class, let alone the students in other grades.

Finally, the presence of religion in the [program] is my third reason for choosing [BSLS]. My son attends chapel on Wednesday mornings, follows O Canada with the Lord’s Prayer, and learns about the Christian life through his daily study…The culture of many of our ancestors was founded on Christianity…choosing to have my son, and soon my daughter, attend a private Lutheran school was my way of retaining that part of my heritage…and leading my children towards a Christian life: a life which reflects my beliefs and values, not just on Sunday, but every day.

As a resident of the south end of Winnipeg, I have a child who attends the St. Mary’s campus Nursery School, and was so pleased to learn that she will be able to continue with the same quality education at the Birchdale campus of BSLS starting in Kindergarten. The Birchdale campus is perfectly accessible from our home in the south end of Winnipeg.

I am quite impressed with your school having exceptionally excellent teachers. You have such a wonderful group of students as well…With everything you have in this school, why would anyone want to go elsewhere?

Your school has some very strong advantages, especially small classroom sizes. The computer lab provides excellent opportunities. Parents definitely have an advantage in sending their children to your school.

To the parents and kids reading this fantastic school’s website: I enjoyed this school very much. The teachers are wonderful and extremely understanding. Our school’s classroom sizes are perfect for a child to have one-on-one teaching if they do not understand something. Since the school is small we get to know each other like a family. Everyone is nice and welcoming no matter how you look, the way you act, your religion, or your culture. We are always welcoming new people to learn with us and teach us through their thoughts and actions. I believe this is one of the schools that let everyone have an equal chance in activities so they have a greater chance of achievement. Beautiful Savior School was the best school I have been to. It was full of fun, caring people who have played a big role in who I am today. Not only did I learn all the subject matter, but social and spiritual subjects as well that have helped me in my day-to-day life.The teachers took the time and effort to help me both socially and with my education. At my former big public school, I witnessed popularity ruining and taking control of people’s lives. Beautiful Savior School taught me that everyone is equal therefore I became friends with everyone. My friends did not distract me, but were just as interested in the subjects taught to us as I was.Today I am in Grade Twelve and I have been on the honour roll each year since entering high school. After, I intend to enter university and study everything from Art to Business. I have prospered from this challenging yet interesting school and will recommend Beautiful Savior School to children everywhere.

I like that my son is in a safe, loving atmosphere where he is learning to love Jesus. I appreciate that the school and class sizes are small and it feels like a close knit community. All the events are so well done and the teachers are very innovative- I should know as I used to be a teacher myself! I would recommend this school, especially for a Christian family.

At Beautiful Saviour, we have found a school community with amazing students, devoted staff, and invested parents. It is a place where the whole family is welcome and known.

The grades mix regularly to play with and learn from one another. The children really benefit from small classroom sizes, musical instruction and a variety of interesting field trips. The school continues to foster community through numerous family events.

The students at BSLS are held to a high standard of behaviour with respect to their peers, the staff and world at large. This is not only taught but modelled daily within the school.

We are confident that this is a safe, healthy, fun and academically rich environment for our children.

I recently attended the Annual Fall Supper at Beautiful Savior Lutheran School, my children’s old stomping grounds and to my surprise, so much has changed. It’s all better than I remembered....................the fellowship of BSLS families coming together for fundraisers, the warmth of the school staff who greet you with smiles and hugs like you are family coming home, the laughter of children playing together (not just with the ones their own age but with younger and older kids because everyone knows everyone here). My children have grown and moved on to other schools now but they were well-prepared. Beautiful Savior provided a solid academic foundation upon which they have built a love for math, sciences and music, nurtured their spirit to serve their God and community, and taught them skills and lessons to deal with life’s challenges. Looking back, I am thankful that our family has been blessed not only with such a wonderful educational institution that prides themselves in giving their students the best of academics but also strives to make them good people. As any parent, I want the best for my children. I’m glad I made the right choice in starting their formative years with Beautiful Savior Lutheran School.

You’re all wonderful at your jobs, and it shows in the students here at BSLS. They’re lucky, even if they don’t realize it yet.
