Our school is thankful for the many hands of our volunteers and over the summer those many hands were busy once again. We would like to recognise the hard work of Charlene Okrainec and her work team consisting of Burke Okrainec, Barry Bisset, Jeff Stark, Paul Christensen, and Bert Lavallee. They are helping to make our school a greener place by replacing our ancient toilets with amazing water saving units. A huge thank you to the ladies who cleaned up a number of unsightly storage areas for us this summer: Lorraine Yau, Sharon Demetrioff, Sandy Katyrynuik and Sandra Madden.
Each week over the course of this year you will receive an email from the school with the newsletter attached. I hope you take the opportunity to read these epistles and hopefully they will be useful in keeping your schedules.

Just a few things to be aware of:
Our first chapel will be Wednesday, September 15. Our commitment to Compassion Canada will continue this year and once a month we will be asking each family to donate one dollar towards our support of Rehimet, our school foster child. In September we will take up the collection on September 22.
For Kindergarten parents we will be holding a hospitality room on Wednesday, September 8 at 8:45 in the Resource Room – just a chance to recover from the excitement of leaving your child for their first day at school.
Just a reminder that we are offering after school German classes commencing September 21. These lessons will take place from 3:30 – 5:00, the cost is $80.00 and the classes will last eight weeks. Please contact Leslie Kolmel at the school if you are interested. We require a minimum of 7 students to run the classes.
Once again welcome to a new year and I look forward to working with you and your children.
May God Bless and Keep you.
Gerry Thiessen
