School starts at 8:45 am. Students entering the classroom after O’ Canada and prayer causes a huge distraction and interrupts the classroom routine. Children need to arrive at school between 8:30 – 8:40 to allow the children time to organize themselves and to be in the classroom by 8:45. Your help in this matter is very much appreciated.
Re-registration for our current families is until Feb. 3. We must notify you that in order to confirm your child’s spot in the class, we ask you return the registration package by Feb.3. Registration for outside and new families begins on Monday, Feb. 6.
PIP is still in need of more wine from families for the wine raffle. Bottles will be organized Monday into prizes and tickets will be printed. Look for more info coming home soon for selling the tickets. The draw will be during our Family Night of Ukraine Week (March 22 @ 7 pm).
The School Board will be holding a Gala Dinner on Saturday, March 3, 2012. This will be an elegant night out for adults while fundraising for the school. Ticket information will be coming home soon!
For the week of February 6-10, we will be having an “Artists in the Schools Residency!” The artist is Allison Moore and she will be doing “Art Detective” with the kindergarten to grade 4 students. This focuses on using recycled objects in nature and home to create the art. They will also be doing a 3-D project to finish off the week. The grade 5-8 classes will be painting murals in the school with “Mural Mania”. With the generous support of the Manitoba Arts Council this was made possible!
I would like to remind everyone to be considerate of others when parking at the school. The loop in front of the school is a drop off loop and should only be used to drop off your child at the school’s front door. Do not park in the drop off loop.
Please do not park in the crosswalk for the safety of the children. Also, when parking on the street, do not double park, take up two spots or block any of the neighbouring driveways. Be respectful of everyone involved!
Thank you Mrs. Kemerle for the wonderful day at school. As principal for the Day, (that she ‘won’ at the Fall Supper) she had many activities and treats planned and it was enjoyed by all. We look forward to next year’s Principal for the Day!
